Subject: Re: GOSLIP.WHAT.IS.IT?
All goslip is, is just a little program to dial up your SLIP/PPP
site, issue whatever commands are neccesary to start SLIP or PPP,
and then perhaps execute some of your clients for you. I made
the mistake of getting this program because I thought I needed
a simple modem program to dial up my "host" and then turn over
the carrier without dropping it. It turned out the Trumpet
Winsock has a built-in dialler which will handle all of this
stuff as well as parse my IP address and input that info. where
needed. Your particular setup may need such a thing, but I
discovered that it was not needed.

The main thing that I like about WinVN is the search capability. I have not
seen any other news reader that has this feature. It is a natural when you
have thousands of groups to look through.

Subject: Xwindows and winsock???
A single (or even more):
Is it possible to run Xwindows on your PC through winsock.
I remember sommething about a discuossion (in this group) about various programs.
I'm interested in commercials and free/shareware.
Do they work in practice, do they stick strictly to X-windows standard and can
I run them with 64 kbit/s line to "my" UNIX-machine.
What are the prices of the various applications and are the worth it.
